Where it is used
Acetone flashes off faster than MEK, which is what you want when product goes straight into a case packer or shrink wrapper with only a second or two of open air. Typical on high-speed carton and film lines where an MEK black is still tacky at the next station.
Choosing the right fluid
Faster drying also means faster evaporation in the printer, so acetone grades are less forgiving if a machine sits idle mid-shift. If your line stops and starts a lot, an MEK grade may serve you better – happy to talk it through.
