Where it is used
Yellow is used where a black code disappears – dark plastics, brown corrugated, black film, dark-coated metal. Soft-pigmented rather than dye-based, which is what gives it opacity on a dark substrate.
Choosing the right fluid
Pigmented inks need more filter attention than non-pigmented blacks and should not be run in a machine that has not been flushed. If you are adding a yellow line to a printer that has been running black, budget for the changeover.
